Résumé

Fixed capacity ejectors for CO2 system have been used in several applications.  A single fixed capacity ejector cannot control the system capacity in off design conditions, so a common solution is to utilise an array of different sizes of ejectors and control the system capacity by steps. This method is used in the Danfoss Multi Ejector Solution™. The step control concept fits in common food retail application with a design capacity less than 300 kW. However, in large industrial system or heat pump applications larger than 1 MW, the step control will result in a large number of ejectors, which is not optimal for implementation. Hence, a combination of a high-pressure valve or a variable capacity ejector unit in parallel with an array of large capacity ejectors can be used instead. In this paper a new algorithm to control and distribute the flow between ejectors and high-pressure valve is presented and validated with experimental data.
