Opportunités de remplacement du R-22 dans diverses applications.

Opportunities of R-22 phase out in different applications.

Auteurs : LAMB R.

Résumé

A ban on new HFC installations is already in place and from the 1st January 2010 there will be a ban on the use of virgin R-22 for servicing. A total ban on the use of HCFCs then comes into effect in 2015. This phase out programme means companies currently operating with ozone depleting refrigerants such as R-22 need to put plans in place to replace these systems in the near future. This paper looks at the options available when replacing R-22 systems and the challenges retrofit projects present to contractors and end users. The equally important environmental issue of global warming is also discussed with ideas and examples for reducing carbon emissions through improved energy efficiency and minimising refrigerant leakage. Examples of completed projects by Star Refrigeration Ltd are presented to demonstrate how end users from three different markets have approached the challenge of R-22 phase out.
