Un surgélateur à air pulsé utilisant le CO2 comme frigorigène.

A multi-chamber blast freezer with carbon dioxide as refrigerant.

Auteurs : PEARSON A.

Résumé

A recent industrial installation demonstrates the benefit of using carbon dioxide as a refrigerant in a low temperature blast freezer plant. This paper describes the freezer plant and presents performance information from operating experience. Freezing times have been reduced in comparison to expected performance and the plant operates more efficiently. The paper describes the performance expected of a conventional blast freezer system and suggests reasons why the carbon dioxide system performance exceeds expectations, with reference to evaporator design, plant configuration, suction line pressure losses and transient response to step changes in load. Design guidance for optimal performance is given, and the implications for other types of freezer plant are explained.
