Résumé
The effective utilization of surplus heat from supermarkets is a crucial aspect of societal decarbonization efforts. Recent advancements have demonstrated that CO2-based refrigeration cycles can generate high-temperature water suitable for supplying to district heating networks while meeting the refrigeration and air-conditioning needs of supermarkets. This study examines the feasibility of leveraging a highly efficient Danfoss-built supermarket located in southern Denmark as a showcase for becoming a district heating source, yielding significant financial benefits for the supermarket owner. The primary objective is to demonstrate the control strategy for such a solution, considering the electricity price dynamics and the pricing structure of the district heating network throughout different periods of the year. The investigation highlights the advantages and limitations of this innovative solution. Preliminary findings indicate that, under low electricity prices, the income generated from the district heating network could compensate the operational costs of compressors for a whole year.
