Optimisation du fonctionnement en régime permanent d'un refroidisseur d'eau à fréquence variable avec un échangeur de chaleur gaz-liquide.

Steady state operational optimization of a variable frequency water chiller with a suction-line heat exchanger.

Résumé

A set of steady-state simulation models of a water chiller refrigeration system was developed based on the mass and energy balance principles. The water chiller consists of a variable frequency compressor, a thermostatic expansion valve and a suction-line heat exchanger (SLHE), in addition to the evaporator and the condenser. Steady state performances of water chiller with SLHE are compared with those of chiller with SLHE. It shows SLHE leads to higher energy consumption in a wide range of operational frequency and valve opening combination. However, it may effectively prevent refrigerant liquid from crossing-over. Steady state operational optimizations were conducted for the water chiller serving a typical office building in two operational modes. It indicates the system does operate at higher frequency with larger valve opening during peak load hours to achieve optimal performance in both operational modes, which may cause refrigerant to be crossed over from evaporator in the system without SLHE.
