Résumé

These volumes contain 27 papers of the 5 sessions of this international refrigeration and air conditioning conference, co-sponsored by the IIR, held in Cape Town, South Africa, March 4-6, 1998. It has been organised on the general theme "Cooling trends in an African context" by SAIRAC (South African Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) and SARDA (Southern African Refrigerated Distribution Association).Topics comprise: A: refrigerants, the present and future; B: ammonia refrigeration; C: refrigerated transport; D: refrigeration in warehousing and the distribution of perishables; E: environmental control and building services. The articles will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin.
