Résumé

This paper presents the simulation of a single-double-effect absorption chiller system. This system uses dual heat sources, namely solar energy and natural gas. Using dual heat sources at the same time makes this system more complex than the conventional absorption chiller system. Thus, a proper control strategy is really important to keep the stability of the cooling capacity and also to obtain a higher performance. Hence, the main objective of this study is to maximize coefficient of performance (COP) of the system operation. As known, the COP of this system is affected by the solution mass flow rate of the absorber outlet and the distribution ratio. In the end, the proper combinations of those parameter studies in the condition of 70?100% cooling capacity are investigated. The simulation results indicate that it is better to use the smaller solution mass flow rate and distribution ratio to reach the maximum COP as long as the combination values are still inside the constraints area.
