Performance en termes de déshumidification des systèmes de chauffage, ventilation et conditionnement d'air.

Dehumidification performance of HVAC systems.

Résumé

HVAC systems have historically focused on controlling the space dry-bulb temperature, while space dehumidification was coincidental. The widely used single-zone, constant-volume system can be the most problematic when it comes to dehumidification, particularly at part-load conditions. VAV systems, however, generally provide effective, indirect dehumidification over a wide range of indoor load conditions. When properly designed and controlled, the HVAC system can significantly reduce the moisture content of indoor air. The paper analyses system dehumidification performance at both full- and part-load conditions, and considers the advantages and disadvantages of each system enhancement. The right choice for a given project depends on the climate, building use, available budget, and operating cost goals.
