Résumé

A national standard recently introduced in application of Italian law 10/91 is clearly lacking in the procedure for estimating seasonal performances of the electric heat pump that utilizes outside air as a cold source. A proposal is presented to fill this gap and acting in accordance with the utilization factor method foreseen by Italian standard UNI 10344. The scope is to allow an estimate of the real fraction of the heating requirement of the building covered by the heat pump. A more precise mode of calculating the seasonal mean COP of the machine is presented.
