Problèmes d'écoulement pouvant provoquer des pannes dans les systèmes cryogéniques.

Troubleshooting hydraulic flow problems in cryogenic systems.

Résumé

Heat in-leak and lack of vapour relief in liquid lines can result in major operability problems in cryogenic systems. Constraints on the piping layout which introduce sharp bends and vertical pockets aggravate the effect of heat in-leak. Unacceptable flow variations are initiated in the system as a result of the differential pressure variations in the liquid lines when vapour builds up. The authors present two examples where significant flow hydraulic problems were observed when the system was initially started up. The steps taken in the problem diagnoses and the solutions for these two examples are presented.
