Résumé
In previous publications Paul et al. (2007) and Paul and Santos (2008) showed for an electrically driven heat pump in modern low energy houses with mandatory forced ventilation that extracting heat from the leaving air and supplying condenser heat to the incoming air makes most sense. Since for a loss-free heat pump the condenser heat is composed of the evaporator capacity and the electric motor equivalent, this motor equivalent has to cover the heat loss of the building. In reality the model of such a heat pump is similar to direct electric heating to cover the heat loss of the building. In such a case any form of district heating becomes obsolete, be it from power stations or from other central heating plants including "waste" heat from engines, production facilities or heat from boilers. Any form of reasonably useful heat should instead be transformed to electric power to operate such exhaust air heat pumps. Heat pumps using water, ambient air, ground heat or the like are equally dispensable. Therefore, the task is to convert any form of useful heat into electric power. Since the heat loss of a well insulated building is small, the heat pump will have small power demand and an unsurpassed COP.
