Résumé

Parties, in Decision XXVI/9, in November 2014, have requested a report updating information on alternatives to ozone-depleting substances, among other tasks, available for consideration by the Open-ended Working Group at its thirty-sixth-meeting and an updated report to be submitted to the Twenty-Seventh Meeting of the Parties. That Decision also called for convening a two-day workshop, back to back with an additional three-day meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group to continue discussions on all issues in relation to hydrofluorocarbon management. This workshop and the additional OEWG-35, will be held in Bangkok, 20-24 April 2015. After some consideration, TEAP convened a Task Force in February. TEAP was informed of the Parties’ expectation for a preliminary draft of the XXVI/9 report by the time of the OEWG-35 meeting. Given the short timeframe, TEAP and the Task Force co-chairs are providing this extract (preliminary) draft for informational purposes to the Parties for their discussions at OEWG-35. A draft report is planned to be completed by the Task Force before the end of May 2015 and will then be submitted to the Parties for further discussion at OEWG-36.
