Résumé

Reports that the German Government plans a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions by the year 2005, taking 1990 as the reference year. States that one third of the end-energy consumption in Germany is for heating housing. On the basis of a literature search of more than 300 articles sets out the fundamentals of low energy house construction and details the energy conservation potential of a series of measures.
