Résumé
Heat pump water heaters are now getting into commercial applications in China in recent years. More and more such products have been used in different cases, such as hospitals, schools, hotels, beauty parlors, and so on. R-417A, as a type of environmental-friendly refrigerant, is sometimes used in these products. It has similar thermal and physical properties as R-22 and can replace R-22 directly without any change in designs and components. The application of R-417A in pint-sized heat pump water heater was studied in this paper. Some performance parameters, including discharge pressure, suction pressure, evaporating temperature, power, COP and so on, were tested and compared with those of R-22 at different ambient temperatures and different water temperatures. The characters of R-417A were analysed and some improvements were also recommended.
