Résumé

Nowadays, with the development of the economy, the consumption of energy is huge. However, energy is not inexhaustible, so new methods should be adopted to recycle and utilize low grade energy. Residual pressure could be used for power generation thus the low grade pressure energy could be recovered, which may play significant role in meeting the increasing demand for energy conversation and emission reduction. This paper experimentally investigates a residual pressure power generation system with a twin-screw expander. Experiments focus on system performance, including mass flow rate, discharge temperature and power generation, with inlet pressure and expander speed variation. The power generation is mainly determined by inlet pressure and mass flow rate of expander. In the experimental results, the power generation system produces 6.7 kW power with twin-screw expander when the inlet pressure and expander speed is 0.25 MPa and 1350 rpm, respectively. And the influence of inlet pressure on power generation is bigger than that of expander speed.
