Résumé

The paper states that ventilation systems for contaminant control have been in operation for centuries. The aim of the congress is to highlight what would be the results of a concerted effort to review and study the problem on a worldwide basis, to apply new techniques for solving the problems, for example CFD, and to deal with various technologies linked to ventilation itself (aerosol science, heating and air conditioning hygiene, measurements of contaminants, indoor air quality, chemical engineering).
