Résumé
The concept of absorption chillers with integrated thermal energy storage is attractive because it has the advantages of higher energy storage density and negligible heat loss over other sensible or latent storage measures. In common absorption chillers using LiBr-H2O as working fluid, crystallization of the solution is one of the challenges in the operation of the chillers. However, for the absorption refrigeration system with interior energy storage, since it can be operated discontinuously, the occurrence of crystallization in this system is not serious. From the point of energy storage characteristics, the salt crystals could enlarge the difference of solution concentration, therefore to improve the energy storage density of the absorption refrigeration system. This paper focuses on the crystallization issues and control strategies in LiBr-H2O absorption refrigeration system with integrated energy storage, which has the function of both cooling and energy storage. Thermodynamic model and simulation is carried out to predict the performance of a single effect LiBr-H2O absorption refrigeration system with integrated energy storage. The method to dissolve the crystals is also proposed by a recycle loop to ensure the normal operation during the period of energy release. The effect of absorption temperature, generation temperature, the effectiveness of heat exchanger on the coefficient of performance and energy storage density are investigated theoretically.
