Résumé

Two Dutch companies, Oxycom Fresh Air BV and Volair, are the winners of the Asercom Efficiency Award 2004. Dew point cooling, which operates on the principle of evaporation of water, reduces the energy consumption up to 75% and is a contribution in reducing the greenhouse effect. The water feed is kept separate from the air to be cooled, so that the latter retains its absolute humidity. During its development, which has been done by both companies separated from each other, emphasises has been placed on an efficient heat exchanger, enabling temperatures below the wet-bulb temperature and not far from the dew point. The units each consist of a fan and cooler. Dew point cooling can be used as an alternative for air conditioning and special in case of a shortage of electric power.
