Refroidissement d'eau par détente d'un courant d'air.

Water cooling by an expanding air stream.

Auteurs : MAIYA M. P.

Résumé

The concept of a novel air-water expansion refrigeration system is presented. In an open cycle, compressed ambient air is expanded in a nozzle imparting work on the sprayed water droplets. The isentropic expansion process cools the air. The convection and evaporation processes cool the water droplets. The simultaneous processes of expansion, and heat and mass transfer are simulated using steady flow energy, mass balance, energy balance and enthalpy potention equations. The chilled water droplets are separated from air to yield useful refrigeration. The results of the simulation reveal that water can be cooled down to 0 deg C depending on the water to air mass flow ratio.
