Experimental results of ejector refrigeration system with R1233zde operating under real industrial conditions.

Résumé

Waste heat recovery has almost become an obligation in various industries. The efficiency of the heat recovery system depends among others on the temperature of the heat source. The customers pay more attention to reduction of consumption of electric energy. Additionally, environmental safety is also becoming more and more important to the customers. Among the available technologies, ejector systems are becoming more and more popular. They allow for the recovery of heat at the lowest potential, i.e. with the temperature lower than 80 °C. In the paper the operation of the ejector refrigeration system applied at industrial company will be presented. The system is driven by waste heat generated by mechanical compressors used in the air compression units. The motive source temperature was below 70 °C, which provides the saturating temperature of motive heat at level of 50-60 °C. The designed motive thermal power is 200 kW and the refrigerant R1233zdE was used. The performance lines in term of mass entrainment ratio, COP and thermal capacities for different levels of motive temperature and different ejector geometry have been presented. The system achieves an entrainment ratio of up to 0.24, which allows for obtaining up to 45 kW of cold used for the company needs.
