Résumé

The NF S 99-700 standard is an approved French standard established by the French Standardisation Association (AFNOR) for the qualification of the thermal performance of autonomous isothermal solutions intended for the transport of temperature-sensitive health products. After the first version published in October 2007, the standard was revised in 2022. The new version concerns all standalone solutions that do not require connection to an energy source during the shipping circuit. It covers the national and international distribution of health products, integrating road and air transport, as well as intermediate storage. It also covers the standard temperature ranges (+2 °C to +8 °C, +15 °C to +25 °C, -25 °C to -15 °C and -90 °C to -60 °C) and any other specific range. It offers a standard protocol and a specific one that allows adaptations. It proposes standard hot, cold and intermediate temperature profiles, for durations ranging from 1 hour to 144 hours, and describes the method to establish specific profiles. This article presents a comparative analysis of the two versions, based on the results of thermal performance tests carried out on standalone solutions, for different temperature ranges and under different temperature profiles.
