Characteristics of the energy economy of air curtains.

Résumé

The paper calculates plane air curtain's heat transfer, the energy consumption of an air curtain in a year as well as its energy conservation effect. Using Shanghai's climate data, the heat insulation efficiency of an air curtain is obtained with dynamic calculations for one year. The air curtain's flow pattern can be shown using flow visualization. Air curtains have been widely used in China's HVAC systems, and have good energy conservation effects.
