Simulation of human skin tissues' temperature field changes under cryotherapeutic effect.

Résumé

A software package has been developed for solving problems of applied cryogenics making it possible to study processes in cryomedical systems, to compute optimal values for optimal exposure and intensity of artificial cooling. Application of modern means of computation and numerical methods enables one to quite precisely simulate the interaction between a heat-carrying agent and the target object for hypothermic effect. A simplified geometric model of a human body's peripheral area was used. This programme makes it possible to simulate processes of the temperature field change in the organism's peripheral area under hypothermic effects. Criteria for assessment of consumer properties of cryotherapeutic procedures have been proposed. A comparative analysis of hypothermic procedures is presented along with an example of the mathematical model's scope. Physical reasons underlying the therapeutic efficiency of cryotherapy have been demonstrated.
