Résumé

The work is focussed on the numerical simulation of the thermal and fluid-dynamic behaviour of the two-phase flow distribution through multiple parallel paths. A detailed one-dimensional numerical simulation model for the in-tube evaporation/condensation phenomena is implemented. Two-phase flow combining and dividing T-junction semi-empirical models from the technical literature are included and validated, in order to simulate not only a single conduit of the whole heat exchanger, but also the two-phase flow distribution and pressure loss of the inlet and outlet manifolds. A numerical simulation model for the whole two-phase flow distribution of the heat exchanger refrigerant side is presented, based on a global SIMPLE-like resolution algorithm. It solves the coupled continuity and momentum equations of the whole domain and links them with both the single conduit model and the T-junction models. In this paper the numerical results of the flow distribution model are compared against experimental data found in the open literature.
