Résumé

The existing and mature CFD technology is applied in this paper. Through the simulation of the prototype fan, we find there are obvious vortexes in the cochlea part of the fan. The authors adopt two schematic plans to improve the efficiency of the fan, because this vortex can cause high energy consumption. At same time, it increases the noise of the ventilator in the air-conditioning system and affects the efficiency of the fan. The first scheme is to increase the radius of the cochlea. The second scheme is to change the cochlea into tilted. The authors also have some experiment of the velocity of the outlet of the fan in order to make some comparison. They can find that the unsuitable change of the cochlea radius caused more disorder airflow rather than improve the cochlea vortexes. They conclude that the key issue is to find the suitable radius of the cochlea in the design of the fan. When they try the design of the tilted cochlea, they get a satisfying outcome.
