Résumé

Clinical intestinal transplantation failed for a long time since the start at 1967 due to its extraordinary severe rejection. After the development of effective immunosuppressant FK-506, more than 180 cases of clinical intestinal transplantation has been performed in the world by the end of 1996. Small bowel is safely preserved using cold University of Wisconsin solution up to 12 hours. Frozen small bowel is impossible to preserve at present. More development concerning the preservation of small bowel is expected.
