Système à absorption thermoélectrique intégré pour la réfrigération.

Integrated thermoelectric-absorption system for cooling.

Auteurs : SUPASUTEEKUL A.

Résumé

This paper presents part of an on-going research project aimed to investigate a novel thermoelectric-absorption system for cooling in building applications. A mathematical model of an integrated single-stage absorption cycle with thermoelectric modules using LiBr-water as a working media has been developed and applied using a computer simulation program. The program has been used to examine the performance of the system under various operating conditions. Incorporating a thermoelectric system with the single-stage absorption refrigeration system has the potential to improve the overall efficiency of the absorption refrigeration cycle. In addition, an integrated thermoelectric-absorption system would remove the need for CFC based air conditioning systems and hence avoid the release of CFC gases to the atmosphere. The simulation results demonstrate that an integrated thermoelectric-absorption cooling system using LiBr-water as the refrigerant could achieve a COP up to 1.3 at an evaporator temperature of 4 °C and a cooling capacity of 0.5 kW.
