Résumé

The paper illustrates why refrigerant emissions are so high in mobile air-conditioning systems, and describes what needs to be done in order to reduce and therefore control these emissions. A number of suggestions (in terms of better leak detection, product design and process control) have been made to improve system tightness at the manufacturing stage so that refrigerant emissions during the life of the car are minimized.
