Systèmes frigorifiques indirects pour les applications dans les supermarchés : une étude de cas.

Secondary loop refrigeration in supermarket applications: a case study.

Résumé

Secondary loop refrigeration systems offer many potential advantages for use in supermarket applications. The objective of the study was to perform a comparison between a direct expansion refrigeration system and a secondary loop refrigeration system of equivalent cooling capacity in a supermarket application. The comparison of the two systems was based on operating costs, including COP and maintenance costs, and also the initial cost of purchasing and installing the two different systems. A numerical simulation model, which was developed and validated by the authors was the primary tool that was used in predicting the refrigeration system performance. It was found that an ammonia/hydrofluoroether secondary loop refrigeration system could deliver the same cooling capacity as a direct expansion HCFC-22 refrigeration system using 15% less energy.
