Résumé

The jet phenomenon is important not only as a basic flow field in fluid dynamics but also in industrial fields such as heating, cooling, drying, painting and mixing. This paper describes the two types of jet control techniques. Passive and active control mechanisms of the development of a jet shear layer are investigated in order to modify the global characteristics of jet flow fields. Passive control is a widely used method of structural control that does not require any external action. This method uses a tab or rib, non-circular nozzles, resonance and coaxial jet. In contrast, active control requires an external action produced by a loudspeaker, micro-actuator, etc.
