Technique éprouvée pour des installations de GNL de petite capacité, modulaires et mobiles.

Practical proven technology for modest capacity, modular, skidded LNG plants.

Auteurs : WIEDER L. Z.

Résumé

Recent regulatory requirements in the United States to control emissions, the impetus for LNG as an alternative fuel to replace diesel, and an increasing need to provide natural gas to remote communities and industrial sites has spawned interest in strategically located, small LNG plants that are easily installed in the field. The application of a cloosed-loop nitrogen cycle utilizing multiple turboexpanders and a conventional centrifugal air compressor, to furnish low-temperature refrigeration for fractionation (if required) and liquefaction of natural gas, offers certain advantages over other processes for these relatively small plants. The subject paper examines the typical nitrogen cycle LNG liquefier process, the advantages, and the economics.
