Résumé
Environmental legislation and increasing energy costs are driving the demand for ever more efficient heat pumps in Europe. At the same time, financial constraints make it necessary to achieve improved performance with minimal cost, whilst of course maintaining quality and reliability. Heat pump compressors play a dominant role in the energy performance of heat pumps and strong development activities are ongoing to transform scroll technology for this challenge. These developments centre on vapour injection, extending the envelope, working with the best refrigerant and capacity modulation.
