Technologies de l'hydrogène liquide : recherche et développement dans les projets WE-NET au Japon.

Research and development work on liquid hydrogen technologies in Japan's WE-NET projects.

Auteurs : OHIRA K.

Résumé

WE-NET (world energy network system) projects are aimed at constructing clean energy systems using hydrogen as a medium, focusing on the development of technologies for hydrogen production, transport, storage and utilization since 1993. The projects are promoted by NEDO under the auspices of the Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The paper reports on the major results achieved in the context of WE-NET projects in the areas of liquid hydrogen and cryogenic technologies, specifically liquid hydrogen spillage characteristics, the development of magnetic bearings for liquid hydrogen pumps, cryogenic properties of materials for use with liquid hydrogen, and the development of high efficiency magnetic refrigerator for the liquefaction of hydrogen.
