Température du carter d’huile dans un compresseur à spirale de type calandre à haute pression.

Oil sump temperature in a high-pressure shell scroll compressor.

Résumé

Scroll compressors are widely used in refrigeration and heat pump systems. Their operation and characteristics have been extensively studied. However, the characterization of oil temperature lacks research, particularly in high-pressure shell scroll compressors. Knowing the oil temperature is crucial in determining the properties of the oil/refrigerant mixture that affect the system's performance and also allows us to estimate the amount of refrigerant dissolved in the oil. This work aims to empirically determine the oil temperature in the sump of a scroll compressor with direct suction under various working conditions, including a variation of suction and discharge temperatures and compressor speed. This characterization was done in a calorimeter compressor test bench; the refrigerant used is propane, and the oil is a PAG-type PZ46M. A correlation is obtained to model the oil temperature, predict the solubility of refrigerant in oil, and estimate the refrigerant charge in the compressor.
