Résumé

China's national standard stipulates that operating rooms are classified into four grades according to their cleanliness. A central air supply on the ceiling directly over the operating table is required for the first three grades of operating rooms. This arrangement, based on the main flow theory founded as early as the late 1970s in China, can effectively protect the critical area, upgrading the space cleanliness while the air changes remain the same, keeping the ratio of criteria concentrations in the main flow area and the peripheral area under 0.5.
