Transfert de chaleur dans de l'hélium superfluide sous-refroidi dans des canaux étroits.

Heat transfer to subcooled superfluid helium in narrow channels.

Résumé

Experimental and theoretical studies have been carried out on the heat transfer characteristics of atmospheric helium II in narrow channels. Those channels have rectangular cross-sections and both ends are open to the helium II bath. One of the side-walls of such channels is heated uniformly, the other is insulated. The gap dimension and the angular orientation of the channels are variable. Since in subcooled helium II film boiling state, three phases (including gas phase helium, helium 1 and helium II) coexist on the heating surface when film boiling is initiated, a two-step-phase-transition model is used to explain the experimental phenomena and results. A comparison in values for the peak heat flux and transition heat flux is made between available experimental results and correlations.
