Résumé

An experimental study of heat transfer and pressure drop in single-phase laminar and transition flow inside internally helical-grooved small-diameter tubes were carried out using 10 types of tubes and a smooth small-diameter tube with an outside diameter of 4.00 mm. In the experiments, water was used as a test fluid; the inlet temperature was maintained at a constant 20°C and the flow rate was varied from 0.001 to 0.047 kg/s. Correlations to predict the friction factor were developed based upon the measured data, which can predict the experimental data within ±20%. In addition, we compared the experimental data with two heat transfer correlations in the laminar flow region. The effect of the shape of the groove in an internally grooved small-diameter tube upon heat transfer and pressure drop in laminar and transition flow regions was clarified.
