Résumé

In pharmaceutical production, a breakdown in refrigeration may produce unknown results from the chemical reactors. This is very costly due to the high quality standards that exist and must be kept for the production of medicines. The use of CO2 as refrigerant has introduced a novel solution to the power breakdown problem. The paper describes a system that introduces emergency cooling and that uses energy efficiently. The main feature beside the cascade CO2/NH3 system is a CO2 liquid storage tank and a blow out possibility for CO2 gas.
