Résumé
In order to keep a sustainable building operation, many of its aspects must be continuously followed up during its life cycle. This provides essential information allowing building managers to take well founded corrective or preventive actions. The result of a research is presented: a continuous, secure and remote monitoring system, Internet-based, dedicated to monitoring different variables. It was conceived to provide freedom to users, allowing remote data access, the use of different sensor network technologies and communication protocols, diverse parts suppliers and sensors for different variables in the same network, system and user interface customization and capability of system integration with Building Management Systems. Prototypes of the system were installed in two conditioned classrooms at the Civil Construction Engineering building at USP, monitoring indoor air temperature, relative humidity and CO2 levels, parameters related to thermal comfort and indoor air quality. Data are transmitted through the Internet to a remote web server for storage. Authenticated and authorized users can consult a dedicated website, where dashboards, charts, tables and reports can be presented. Data exportation is also a possibility such as alarm messages (SMS, email) associated to critical conditions. Data security aspects provide more reliability to the information, which can be used in audits, legal claims or certification processes such as LEED, HQE, and BREEAM.
