Résumé

Italian translation of an article presented at SITHOK-3 international Congress in Maribor, Slovania, in 1998 (see IIR Bulletin, ref. 99-1260). The Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was adopted on December 11, 1997. This Protocol will enter into force only when it is ratified by 55 Parties including developed countries which account for at least 55% of the CO2 emissions of these countries. The major goal of this Protocol is the commitment of industrialized countries to reduce their aggregate anthropogenic CO2 equivalent emissions of six greenhouse gases by at least 5% below 1990 levels in the period 2008-2012. There are several consequences and actions to prepare in the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors: reminder of the greenhouse effects of CFCs and HCFCs, reduction of indirect global warming, maintaining a single "basket" of six gases, bearing in mind that national figures are calculated on a gas-by-gas basis, analysis of past and future emissions of HFCs, defining accurate benchmarks.
