Simulation des systèmes de conditionnement d'air fonctionnant grâce à la chaleur et intégrant des roues déshydratantes et des refroidisseurs à absorption.

Simulation of heat driven air-conditioning systems integrating desiccant wheels and absorption chillers.

Résumé

Heat driven air-conditioning systems can play a significant role in the reduction of primary energy consumption if they are properly fed by a renewable heat source or by waste heat. Mainly two technologies can be used to cool and dry an air stream: the first one is based on an absorption or adsorption chiller which cools a working fluid used in a common air handling unit whereas the second one is based on a sorption wheel which is part of an open desiccant evaporative cooling cycle. The aim of this work is to evaluate thermal power consumption of heat driven systems based on the coupling of H2O-LiBr absorption chillers with desiccant wheels. In fact, compared to conventional systems, if the desiccant wheel is used to control the latent load and the absorption chiller to control the sensible one, primary energy savings can be reached.
