Cette technologie est un système par sorption ouverte utilisant la pulvérisation d'une saumure ; elle peut être le support d'aérosols corrosifs à l'intérieur d'espaces habités. Tout en étant une technologie éprouvée, c'est aussi une solution coûteuse pour les applications résidentielles.
