Storage of cold energy with binary ice.

Conventional ice banks form ice on the surface of a heat exchanger or harvest ice flakes or ice chunks from ice makers. Such systems are limited in their melting capacity, geometry and efficiency. Binary ice is a suspension of minute ice crystals and forms a pumpable ice slush which can be stored, transported in pipes and applied in heat exchangers. Binary ice offers latent energy not only in the storage but also in the circulated fluid and has very interesting economic features.
