Résumé

Without ice storage systems, many cooling processes in the production and process engineering industry today would hardly be feasible. However, some ice storage systems are considered as temperamental. In particular, inaccurate and unreliable ice inventory as well as restricted use because of ice forming and corrosion problems are the major complaints of many customers. A worldwide innovation, the newly designed hybrid ice storage system, has now been introduced by the Swiss company FAFCO-DELROC. The new hybrid is of a unique design, combines two common ice melting systems and shows all the advantages of both. The overall capacity of the hybrid ice storage reaches the level of the well-known "ice builder storage system". However, on the other hand, the system shows all the advantages of the "ice bank storage system."
