Activités de développement de systèmes de récupération de chaleur à basse température utilisant des pompes à chaleur à absorption.

Development activities of low temperature waste heat recovery appliances using absorption heat pumps.

Résumé

Waste heat recovery is an effective means of reducing primary energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Absorption heat pumps are especially suitable for this purpose because they are driven by thermal energy. The authors describe several machines that use absorption cycles and their applications. Absorption heat amplifiers achieved a coefficient of performance of 1.7 in a single-effect cycle and 2.3 in a double-effect cycle, and they saved a significant amount of energy compare to direct fired boilers. An application of heat amplifiers was installed in a chemical industry plant, and 316 t of CO2 emissions were reduced annually as a result. They also developed an absorption heat transformer that provides a 52°C temperature boost using a single effect cycle. This figure represents 84% of the theoretical value and exceeds all the previously reported heat transformers. This cycle was also applied to a cogeneration system. Carbon dioxide emissions in the plant were reduced by an estimated 776.7 t annually. The authors are now aiming to popularize these absorption machines, which will contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and to mitigating global climate change.
