Amélioration de l'efficacité du système de ventilation d'un immeuble muni d'une toiture solaire et d'accumulation thermique avec matériaux à changement de phase.

Increasing building's ventilation efficiency using a solar roof and phase-change material heat storage.

Résumé

This paper presents a building ventilation system with a solar roof and short-term latent heat storage. The solar roof is an unglazed air solar collector integrated into the building envelope. Latent heat storage is made from polyethylene spheres with encapsulated paraffin, which forms porous filling inside the duct of building ventilation systems. The mathematical model of heat transfer was verified on a single sphere as well as on the whole storage system. The size and shape of the heat storage feature were optimized for a selected day in a heating season. System performance was analysed for the heating season and compared with the performance of natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation with preheated air from the solar roof and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Performance was evaluated by an utility factor, which was defined as a share of time when the ventilation system provides air in the temperature range between 18 and 25 °C. Results show that the solar-assisted ventilation system with short-term latent heat storage gives the most favourable results.
