Résumé

The partition air supply system allows occupants to turn on/off and to control the supply air speed and direction with similar flexibility as occupants in automobiles. To find optimal specifications that are able to achieve a comfortable micro-environment, a CFD modelling tool was used to simulate the airflow and thermal performance of the partition air supply system in a typical office space. The system parameters of supply air temperature, volume flow rate and supply velocity were varied and investigated during the study. The study evaluated the impact of air temperature, air velocity, and thermal comfort distribution characteristics of the space on the performance of partition air supply systems. The simulation results were compared and evaluated according to both occupant's thermal comfort and system energy consumption. The study shows that space-cooling energy can be reduced when an acceptable thermal comfort level is maintained by a higher supply air temperature with a partition air supply system.
