Résumé

This paper describes the state of a running project. The main focus of this project is the research of two new methods to increase the efficiency of transcritical CO2 refrigerating systems and to compare these methods to three already implemented systems. The implemented systems are a system with integrated expansion-compression-unit (ECU) to reduce throttle losses (Pratteln, Switzerland), a system with an adsorption chiller for subcooling (Schönbühl, Switzerland) and a system with parallel compression to reduce throttle losses (Ebikon, Switzerland). Several promising methods are assessed and ranked by pros and cons as well as savings and market potential. From this ranking two promising, unrealized methods are devised and detailed implementation concepts created. In addition, three already implemented methods are studied in detail with reference to measured data and their effective saving potential is validated. The results from the research project will help to select appropriate methods to increase efficiency and promote their dissemination.
