Résumé

The feasibility and application mode of waste heat from sewage treatment plant is analyzed. The effects of biogas engine-driven heat pump (BEHP) used in sewage treatment plants on energy saving and environmental protection are studied, and the system construction and economic analysis of proposed BEEP are made. Results show that in comparison with coal-fired boiler, gas-fired boiler and electric heat pump (EHP), a BEHP with a power input of 500 kW would reduce the consumption of coal, natural gas and electric power by 450 tons, 277 thousand m3 and 682 thousand kWh respectively, by assuming 300 days of annual operation. And the initial cost of BEHF will be recouped in 1.5 years. Therefore, it is a nice way of recovering waste heat from sewage and utilizing biogas from sewage treatment to drive sewage source compression heat pumps, and its economic and environmental benefits are significant.
