Résumé

The importance of refrigerated transport is growing, due to increasing demand for safety and quality preservation in temperature sensitive goods. Land transport with refrigerated vehicles is the most common mode of perishable products transportation and represents an important link in the cold chain. Last mile delivery is spreading out, often requiring transportation at different preservation temperatures. The choice of the refrigerant in transport vapor-compression systems is undergoing a tough revision, following the phase-down of synthetics imposed by the EU F-gas Regulation. Facing these challenges, this study describes a CO2 vapor-compression system for multi-temperature refrigerated transport applications, integrating a two-phase ejector. A numerical model of the unit is developed and steady-state simulations are carried out to evaluate the theoretical performance of the system under different operating conditions. Results will help to assess the influence of the operating parameters on the system COP and refrigerating effect maximization for perishables transport applications
